BUILDING BRIDGES TO SUCCESS, INC ANNOUNCES THE 2020 ACE AHMAD SCHOLARSHIP
The Aceyson Ahmad Civic Leadership scholarship seeks to provide financial support to a rising high school junior or senior who demonstrates strong civic/community leadership and a continuous quest for academic excellence. The award will provide financial support to attend the William R. Harvey Leadership Institute at Hampton University during the summer of 2020.
What is the William R. Harvey Leadership Institute? The 23rd High School Leadership Summit is designed for rising high school juniors or seniors to focus on “The Leader Within”. This week long, residential program provides students the opportunity to establish a plan after graduation through several exciting and challenging workshops. Program dates are July 12-18, 2020. Workshop topics include:

- Developing a personal brand/Social Media Style
- Determine Your Leadership Style
- Entrepreneurship
- Personal Finance

Total award amount: $1,200.00 – Will include cost of six day accommodations on Hampton University’s historic campus, all meals, workshop materials, and leadership training provided. Selected recipient will also receive a monetary stipend for the week long training.
Preference given to:
- Young men of color ages 15-17 years old;
- Ward 7 residents;
- Youth residing in a single parent household;
How to apply? Interested youth should submit bio and indicate interest in civic and community leadership. Parents, Teachers, Mentors, and Guardians may also apply on behalf of youth. Bio should be no more than 100 words and indicate “What Civic Leadership Means to them and their communities”. Include youth’s age, address, contact number and name of high school the youth attend.
